This is new for me. Before I wrote this post, I never thought of pork and cabbage as lucky food for the New Year. Apparently, in Texas, this is the tradition! You do not have to mix the two ingredients together for Lady Luck to smile on you, but I suppose it would not hurt. The easiest – and most versatile – thing to make with cabbage is coleslaw.
